5 Mistakes You Don’t Want to Make This Winter

It will be winter be for you know it. Winterสล็อตเว็บตรง provides many challenges for your dog. Most of these pitfalls can be avoided if you learn the “5 mistakes that don’t want to make this winter”. Then you can prevent these mistakes. You and your dog will have more fun in the winter, and you dog will be healthier and more comfortable.

  1. Not feeding your dog enough in the winter months. I did this once, and actually it worked. I went to the store to buy food, and realized that I left the door open a little too long. I noticed that the food inside the bag was parcel shaped, and too large to be useful. I looked at the label, and saw that it was all fat. I know that they packed the extra fat from the scraps in thebags, but it still needs to be in the bag for at least 30 days. So now I have at least 2 weeks of food I just don’t have to worry about. If you cut corners, you will need to add 20 – 30% more food. But remember it’s 2 weeks, and you will have to ration out the food.
  2. Not using a “short cut” product, or not teaching your dog at least 3 tricks. (like drop and go or roll over) I teach my dog with a “short cut” on a rope toy. It’s a kind of stretched out shape, kind of like a “spider” web, in a knot. Tying a longer length of rope to a stool so that he can roll it over on his own. Tying it to a tree or a garage sign. Keeping it up and it’s a great way for him to release tension. (TIP: Get a long rope, and make a knot in it of about 2 feet long). Knowing that he will let go of the stool when he needs to eat or drink water or take a break. (TIP: Use a training tent to help you keep him from wandering off in the yard, or if you have a luree technique, just use that). Knowing that he will release himself for an ample amount of time when and if he needs to go potty. (TIP: You might also consider using a bell to let you know that he needs to go out).
  3. Not feeding him “on demand”, or setting a Table refused. (We call this Jackets House rule). This can be disastrous. Wait until you are home, or make your dog work for his food. (This is especially important if you have kids or a new puppy in the house). You need to “achequire” for a command, and make him earn his bowl.
  4. Not replacing worn food. This can be a matter of considering value. If you go to a grocery store, and purchase a 7-inch steak, and some potato without onions, and a can of (beef, chicken, fish, etc) you can bet your life it will be a short time before that can be replaced. Dogs can’t begin to try and eat everything, so until now, they must be taught not to. At the very least, be sure to have replacement plates/bowls available as well.
  5. Not taking the time to “ground” your dog. (Important). The reason this is so important is if some reason is your dog goes off, and you need to 325. If a dog will not eat on its own it can also be dangerous.
  6. Not seeing your veterinarian sooner. This can be crucial.
  7. Not following any advice you may have read on the inside of dog food, supplements, books or websites. No matter how sound a supplement may be on the outside it is important you let your vet have a look at it too.
  8. Not following up to purchase the needed dog supplies. This can cost a big chunk of change if you chance into a shop along with everything else your dog requires. You may be paying full retail price to get a few bags of dog food.
  9. Not taking time to “read” and understand dog food ingredients. Just because some list chicken as an ingredient doesn’t mean it is a good thing or healthy for your dog. Other things to look out for are fillers, dyes, 2 forms of cancer Allowable fats and bHA’s.
  10. Not realizing (or not taking the time to realize) the age of your pet and using that as a resource. New to you and new to it all, they may not think they are getting the best food depending on age and condition.

So you want to give your dog the best shot at a long healthy life. Maybe you need a new perspective on what the dog food Ingredients really mean.
